Observatorio Regional ODS
The ODS Regional Observatory, currently directed by the political scientist and Master in Peace Building and International Law Damaris Paola Rozo López, is an appropriate space to study, warn, account for and participate in the plans, designs, projects, initiatives and synergies both of the State and the private sector and civil society in the national implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim is to identify the challenges, advances, possibilities and emerging alternatives, from the different sectors, in each region with respect to the current regional context and its projections for the 2030 agenda. In this way, we will contribute to the construction of the general panorama from Colombia on the adoption and implementation of the SDGs and we will present the existing needs to move nationally towards the 2030 agenda as a global action plan.
This Observatory is based on collaboration between undergraduate, master's and doctoral students and professors, particularly from the Universidad de los Andes. However, it is hoped that the Observatory will be a space for activation and articulation of a network of national students, teachers and leaders, which implies collaborative inter-university and interdisciplinary work that understands, promotes and works to achieve the 17 Objectives of Sustainable Development and the contextualized application of the 169 goals proposed in these objectives.
In this sense, the observatory will be a space for research, regional advice and documentation that articulates and enhances the knowledge and projects of teachers, academics, students, youth and different groups in the private and state sector. The foregoing will be based on the participation of the members of the observatory, articulated with the communities and youth leaders, in studies of regional, departmental and municipal diagnoses on the challenges and progress of the implementation of the SDGs in Colombia.
